Intel’s Sandy Bridge Processor Faulty
Intel has halted shipments of its new “Sandy Bridge” processors because of a flaw identified in a support chip known as Cougar Point. The “Sandy Bridge” chip that had launched in January, combined standard processing and graphics units into a single chip.
According to Intel, the flaw in the support chip would have led to failures over time in connections to hard drives and DVDs. Read more…
